Codes for Artists

I have been intrigued with those funny looking codes that are popping up in ads. They looked like strange mazes to me until I downloaded an application to read them on my IPhone. I opened the application and by putting my phone in front of the code it instantly took me to the code's website. Wow. I was amazed.

I had been reading about the uses for these codes. I began to research them and thanks to a posting on  CANVOO I learned how to create one for my website. I tried it and it works.

Here it is...Amazing to know that the key to my website is there! All you have to do is unlock it.

I am excited about learning about these codes. Now what am I going to do with mine?

I am hoping to use it in relation to shows as well as ads so that interested collectors can look at my website.

I do see this as another way for collectors to find artists. What will this do to galleries who guard artist's information from collectors as well as their artists? I see it as ending that practice. Galleries will have to establish a more trusting relationship as well as work with artists who have strong business ethics. Artists will have to reassure galleries that they will not undercut them. It may even make the artist/gallery relationship stronger.
