SPIRIT OF THE DOG
I have had a wonderful summer painting and traveling. I am also proud to announce the new addition to our family, Abbey Rose, a Red English Lab. She has made me realize how important pets are in our lives. We had been "dogless" for two years after the death of our 13 yr old lab, who was a painting, hiking, and studio companion. Her presence has brought so much laughter and excitement to our home.
Abbey inspired me to paint her, and one thing has led to another...I am painting dog spirit paintings celebrating their souls. They are not portraits, but impressions of dogs in paint. Breckenridge Art Gallery is representing these paintings and we are donating a portion of the sales to L.A.P.S., a Summit County, CO., dog rescue organization. You can commission a painting of your dog by contacting them.: 970-453-2592. Examples of my paintings are also on my website.

This workshop is an introduction to working with water soluable oils, which I use when traveling.
19th ANNUAL SOUTHEAST INVITATIONAL MINIATURE SHOW, GERMANTON GALLERY, GERMANTON, NC
December 2, 2011- Jan 1, 2012
Mark your calendar for this annual event! I will have paintings available during this show featuring invited national artists. All paintings have to be 9x12" or smaller.

"After the Storm", 6x8" oil on linen panel.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
My heart goes out to all those who were affected by Hurricane Irene. I painted at Oak Island, NC this spring, and loved that area. Germanton Gallery has some of the work that I did. These paintings may now be memories of what that area once looked like before Mother Nature changed the geography. I hope I can return to paint the new landscape.
